The annual Classic Tetris World Championships 2017 have just wrapped up, and the hugely successful seven-time champion Jonas Neubauer has once again bested the rest of the competition to lift the trophy at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo at the Oregon Convention Center.
Among the over 100 players was European player Jani Herlevi, as well as a number of other accomplished players. They then played two days of qualifying rounds before a final 32-bracket seeded competition, kicked off by Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov.
There were over 4,600 spectators both in-person and online, and for his accomplishment Neubauer was awarded $1,000 USD. Did you watch the tournament?
